Painters Directory - Are They a Waste of Time?

Whenever I think about being listed in a painters directory I think "BORING"! All my career as a painter I have mostly gone after prospects and not waited for them to come to me. Paid advertising can work well also but you cannot just rely on it by itself. This is where direct marketing fills the voids. Directories sound like a stagnate dead zone in my opinion.
