Is There Any Money In It?
I write "Is there any money in it?" because one of my recent customers just e-mailed me and told me he was doing painting for a home management company.
He said they wanted him to paint the interior of a 2,000 sq foot house for only $1200.
He asked my opinion on it. I told him if he didn't use my estimating system as outlined in step #2 of chapter 1 he would lose serious money.
The price they were demanding was way below today's estimating rates. They know that they can always find someone who's hard up enough to paint at those ridiculous prices.
