Do You Use Tape When Painting?
I get asked that question a lot. Do I use tape in my painting busniess. My answer is no. I use an angular brush to cut in with.
You can do a good job cutting in at ceiling lines and around trim simply by using a quality 2" angular brush.
Wooster makes a nice brush. Their top-of-the-line 2" paint brush (angular) costs about $13 and will last for years if you take care of it.
This is assuming you will be using latex paints. If you wash it out after use it will stay a good brush for a long time.
There are other good brushes out there like the All-Pro "Stealth". I think they are also made by Wooster for the All-Pro company.
The people who do use tape use the wrong kind. Regular masking tape bleeds when you paint next to it with a paintbrush.
There is a special painters tape made just for cutting in. If you have to do stripes on a wall, this is a good reason to use this special tape. It can be found at professional paint stores.
