House Painting - How To Make Every Interior Job Look Professional

House Painting - How To Make Every Interior Job Look Professional

Do you have nice white ceilings in your house? About 27 years ago when my wife and I were first starting out, we rented an apartment from my grandfather.

He painted all the rooms up nice and fresh with pastel colors and white ceilings just before we moved in.

In later years, when I started my house painting business, I painted ceilings a nice flat white. I used two coats for a nice full color finish.

People loved them. I didn't really notice. My grampa did it that way, so what the hey? But it taught me to appreciate my fine quality work! ;-)

It didn't take long to notice that apartments are usually all one color. So is new home construction. So if you really want your paint job to stand out nice paint your ceilings white.

I also have done ceilings that were just a couple shades lighter than the walls and they looked great too! I painted for a lady who had an interior decorator chose some colors for her. She chose lie a squash or pumpkin color for the walls and did the same color only she choose a much lighter variation of the same color for the ceiling.

It was in her kitchen and it turned out really nice. The main point is "definition". Going with a lighter ceiling brings out the definition in a ceiling. They get a lot of shade anyway, so the really need the lighter color.
