How To Start Your Own Big Profit Painting Business

I started my own painting business 15 years ago. I started with a cheap ladder, some basic painting tools and worked out of the trunk of my beater car. I made $450 my first week in business.

As I was walking to my car at the end of that week, I remember feeling really good about being independent. And to be able to come and go as I wish and have more money than before!

Basically, I got my first painting contract and I told my boss to take a hike. We recently did a kitchen and a hallway that took a week (35 hrs.) to complete and we made $1,500.00 profit.

I think we made over $35 per hour on that job! We did another job that was $3,995 and only took 130 hrs. to complete and they supplied the paint! They also want us to give them a bid on coming back and doing the woodwork later on.

We did a small barn that took about 90 hrs. to do paint and we made $3,300 on that job. As a matter of fact, we have painted for this same customer twice before on other juicy projects.

We worked for Earnst & Young a couple of times doing woodwork staining and cleaning wallpaper. We made $1,800 at Christmas time because of going in a few hours a night on the side while working another on another project during the day.
