STARTING A PAINTING BUSINESS OF YOUR OWN
Are you thinking about starting your own painting business? I started mine way back in 1991. I had painted my own houses before and even worked briefly for a contractor.
There came a point in my life that the idea of having my own painting business began to haunt me. I guess it was because some of the neighbors had hired me to paint for them from time to time while I was unemployed. Even a referral from a realtor had had me painting for them and calling me back.
During the last job that I had, these memories kept on bothering me. I kept thinking to myself why didn’t I go after it some of the phone calls that my wife was getting while I was at work.
Being for the fact that I have always been an opportunity seeker type of person, I really wanted my own business.
And finally one day when I had no where else to turn, I tried a little secret method I learned years earlier for getting painting customers.
And got my first pane customer after just two tries and the rest is history. I made over $450 in the first week of my painting business. That was a hundred and fifty dollars more than I made working for a boss.
I have made more money in my own painting business than I could ever have working for someone else.
I didn’t even have a painting truck. I had and old beater car, an old rickety latter and a handful of cheap painting tools. That is how I started my own painting business.
After that point I just simply started getting good at painting. I learned how to do all my prep work, what paints to use, how to do estimates, wallpaper, do dry wall repairs, etc.
In the early days, a really lost my shirt on a few jobs, and not all my drywall repairs were that great, put people really bragged about how good of a Painter I was.
After 13 years, I am pretty accurate in bidding painting jobs. Many of my customers don’t even ask for of bid anymore. They just tell me to do the job and they pay me because they know I’m reasonable and honest in my pricing.
I very rarely have to look for work any more. Right now I am booked up about four months ahead. Now that is job security! If you want a business of your own, starting a painting business is an excellent choice.
There is more work than he could shake a stick at in the painting business. I love to paint. I look forward to my projects. And I can show you how to avoid all the mistakes I made in the beginning so you can make the good money right away!
